It is totally so easy to rock along in life thinking all is rosy and you don’t need an anchor because you got your “boat” under control, then before you know it, you are caught in a riptide that pulls you under. You better put your hope in the only one that can save you. Great analogy with the anchor. I like anchors too.

Yes ma'am. I agree. It happens slowly. The drifting. That is why making sure we are anchored in Him is key.

This is once again outstanding. My word for the year works with yours - Abide. Whenever I feel “off course” I know it’s because I am not abiding. I have to reset my anchor. Thank you

I love the word abide! So good! It makes me smile that our words go together!

I enjoyed your take on anchors and being anchored in Jesus knowing a little about the subject having spent time in Alaska on a ship 🛳️ and a fishing boat 🛥️. It was on the fishing boat that we had anchored and invited the night about 3 am woke up startled by the thought that we were on a rock ledge and was unable to dislodge ourselves from it we started to abandon the vessel and swim to shore. “They say the captain is the last one off the ship, but I was just getting ready to jump when the boat righted itself. I was the only one still on it and everyone swam back got aboard and we went back to the docks to assess any damage repair and then head back out to chase salmon. Just a little story about my own anchor adventures. Be blessed, Megan

Thank you again stories and parables!

Oh. My. GOODNESS!!!! I cannot even imagine how terrifying that was! And COLD!!!! I am so glad that it righted itself and you all managed to make it safely to shore. Holy cow! That is wild. I am so glad you shared that! I love it!

When the storms arise and my anchor chain breaks sending me adrift in high seas and strong winds, it is reassuring to know that Jesus is in the boat with me.

On this very cold morning, I enjoyed starting my day with the thought of a warm day on the lake watching you swim after your daughter and her water trampoline! ;) It made me smile.

As I read this, I was taken to James’ words, reminding us about a life that has faith without works. Lately I find myself doing my Bible study and having prayer time as a way to check a box that I’ve done that for the day. I feel like my walk is distracted by the devil, and the wind and the waves are pushing hard. Reading this is a great reminder that I need to make sure my anchor is set every day. I can’t just toss it out there and lay back in my boat. I have to make sure it is set. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Have a blessed day!

Haha I definitely had to swim after her/it a time or two!! Shake my head. However, I am so glad to know that I was able to provide a little entertainment for you!

Yes. To all of that! I agree. Distractions are the devil's favorite diversion tactic. It is wild how sometimes the wind and the waves just push you off course before you even realize it is happening. Sometimes, we know it is happening but feel helpless to fix it. That is where the anchors come into play. Just because Jesus holds our anchor doesn't mean we won't still feel the ripples of the winds and waves, we can just trust that He will not allow us to drift too far off course. And that is something to praise Him for!!
